Tough Girls is a musical – Book and Lyrics by Melissa Reeves, music composed by Irine Vela, inspired by some of the stories from Melbourne’s underworld in the 1980’s and 90’s, told from the perspective of the women participants. It tells the story of a young woman going into witness protection, the female policewoman who is protecting her, her mother-in-law - a formidable crime matriarch, and a young heroin addict.
